Hi! I'm Remy, the face behind this website. I grew up on Maui, studied ecology and economics in Cleveland (CWRU '06) and Denmark (DIS '04). I lived in California, Mexico and Chicago before discovering the amazing city of Lexington in the beautiful state of Kentucky.
I make Lavish Love bone broth for sale, I teach nourishing food ways to support healing and I enjoy practicing mentoring with children and families in a variety of traditional and non-traditional experiential learning settings.
I've worn many hats in life from business consultant for Accenture to Spinning instructor and CrossFit coach to personal chef to community builder. The hat I wear now is "professional human being" or permaculturalist.
I am on a journey to build connections with my world, inner and outer. I seek to explore it physically, emotionally, intellectually, and spiritually with a mind toward the health of future generations of humans and all creatures.
Along the way I've discovered the role of nature and culture in supporting a fully functioning human body and mind.
I've noticed the closer I can live with the cycles of nature and integrate practices our more nature-connected ancestors and teachers have, the healthier and happier I am and the more I'm able to share my gifts.
I see this journey has many invisible and ephemeral structures: the daily practices of physical and emotional sustenance that pass through us every day--food, water, movement, images, communication, thoughts, feeling. These expressions beg the question: how do I want to feel, relate to and experience myself and my larger human and non-human community and what is that creating?
Thank you for searching for more connection with your food, body, and place. I look forward to playing in the garden, the kitchen, the park, or the forest with you!
